Mid-Twentieth Century
Mid Twentieth Century (1950-1970)
Jewelry design underwent radical changes after WWII. Abstract designs, starbursts and atomic designs and animal figures became popular. Brooches, large pendant necklaces and earrings, and big beads were in vogue. Pearls in all forms…earrings, necklaces, bracelets and brooches, lent glamour and sophistication to a woman's wardrobe. Pop Art, Rock and Roll, the Apollo moon landing, counter-culture revolution, and the discovery of different ethnic styles, influenced jewelry designers of this time period.
